Our Mission
BEJCRC: Transforming Lives and Communities
At BEJCRC, our mission is to transform lives and communities by providing consistent services, support, and opportunities for personal and collective growth. We are committed to enhancing the quality of life through comprehensive family services, programs designed to prevent homelessness, the promotion of culture and education, and job placement services. Our vision is rooted in fostering a strong, dedicated team of volunteers who share our passion for the well-being of their families and the broader community.
Our vision is to build a compassionate and inclusive community where every individual, regardless of their circumstances, has access to basic needs, opportunities for growth, and a supportive network. We strive to empower low-income individuals, seniors, and those experiencing homelessness by fostering hope, restoring dignity, and creating pathways toward stability and self-sufficiency. Together, we envision a future where no one is left behind, and every person has the resources and support they need to thrive.
How We Got Our Name
Benjamin Edward Jones was born on November 12, 1935, in Wabbaseka, Arkansas, the youngest of three children to Nathaniel Jones Sr. and Earsula (Redwood) Jones. In August 1965, he answered the call to serve as Pastor of Zion Elect Church of God in Christ in San Bernardino, California. A man of deep faith and devotion, Pastor Ben Jones would walk the streets of Muscoy, where his church was located, praying fervently for the city, its leaders, and the community. Through his ministry, countless lives were touched and transformed.
Pastor Ben Jones was a pillar of his community, dedicating himself to a wide range of initiatives aimed at improving the lives of others. He established a 12-step Drug and Alcohol Recovery program to support residents, was instrumental in feeding the hungry, and organized Christmas toy drives for underprivileged families. His commitment to service extended beyond the church walls, as he became an active member of the Police Clergy and worked with the San Bernardino Police Department.
With an unwavering passion for helping the less fortunate, Pastor Jones collaborated with numerous social service organizations to serve the Muscoy community and beyond.
Pastor Jones loved people wholeheartedly and dedicated his life to uplifting others. His legacy of faith, service, and love for humanity is continued through the work of his son, Pastor Paul Jones.
